Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
Dilation and curettage (D&C) is a procedure performed to scrape and collect endometrium from inside the uterus. This procedure involves the dilation (widening or opening) of the cervix to allow instruments into the uterus, and the surgical removal of uterine tissue by scraping (curettage) the uterine walls. This process can be performed using a local anesthetic.
